What is included by default and what is optional
Every Uretyco order passes quality control before shipment: a visual inspection and a sample dimensional check of critical dimensions against the approved file. The record stays on your order. Quality documents go further and are optional: you select them when you request the quote, they are priced in the quote, and they are not included unless you selected them.
If a document you need cannot be provided for a part, Uretyco tells you before the order is confirmed, not after production.
Documents at a glance
| Document | What it shows | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate of Conformity (CoC) | A declaration by the supplier that the delivered parts meet the order requirements: part, revision, material and quantity. | Goods-in documentation and traceability to your purchase order. |
| Material certificate (EN 10204 3.1) | Specific test results for the material, validated by the manufacturer's authorized inspection representative, who is independent of production. | Proof of material grade and properties for structural or critical parts. |
| Material certificate (EN 10204 2.1 / 2.2) | 2.1: declaration of compliance without test results. 2.2: compliance plus non-specific test results from production. | Lower-risk parts where a declaration or typical values are sufficient. |
| Measurement report | Measured values for the dimensions you specify, with the measuring equipment used. | Evidence for critical dimensions, fits and interfaces. |
| CMM report | Measurements taken on a coordinate measuring machine. | Complex 3D geometry and form or position tolerances (GD&T). |
| First Article Inspection report (FAIR) | Every characteristic on the drawing checked on the first part(s) and recorded against a ballooned drawing. | Start of series production, a new part or supplier approval, customer requirements. |
| Weld inspection | Visual (VT), penetrant (PT) or radiographic (RT) inspection of welds against the agreed acceptance criteria. | Load-bearing or sealing welded assemblies. |
EN 10204 certificate types explained
EN 10204 defines four types of inspection documents for metallic products. The type tells you who confirms the values and whether they come from the material you actually receive.
- Type 2.1 (declaration of compliance): the manufacturer confirms that the product complies with the order. No test results are included.
- Type 2.2 (test report): the manufacturer confirms compliance and adds results of non-specific inspection. These are typical values from the same production, not necessarily from your batch.
- Type 3.1 (inspection certificate): results of specific inspection on the delivered product or its batch, validated by the manufacturer's authorized inspection representative, who is independent of the manufacturing department. This is the standard type when you select a material certificate; 2.1 or 2.2 can be requested instead.
- Type 3.2 (inspection certificate): like 3.1, but co-validated by the purchaser's authorized representative or a third-party inspector named in the order. Available only if agreed in the quote.
A material certificate refers to the material batch (heat or lot) it was issued for. If you need the link between the certificate and your parts documented, say so in the quote request.
Measurement reports, CMM, FAIR and weld inspection
- Measurement report: list the dimensions to be measured or mark them on the drawing, and state how many pieces should be measured.
- CMM report: useful for complex geometry and for form or position tolerances. Define the datums and features on the drawing.
- FAIR: every characteristic on the drawing is checked and recorded. It requires a ballooned drawing, that is, a drawing in which every dimension, tolerance and note is numbered. Attach it to the quote request.
- Weld inspection: state the method (VT, PT or RT) and the acceptance criteria or standard on the drawing.
Which document do you need?
| Situation | Suggested choice |
|---|---|
| Prototype or fit check | Standard quality control is usually sufficient. |
| Your goods-in process requires a delivery document | Certificate of Conformity (CoC) |
| The material grade must be proven to your customer or auditor | EN 10204 3.1 material certificate |
| An independent inspector must confirm the material | EN 10204 3.2, if agreed in the quote |
| Critical fits or interfaces need documented evidence | Measurement report |
| Complex surfaces or GD&T | CMM report |
| Series start, a new part or a supplier approval | FAIR |
| Load-bearing or sealing welded parts | Weld inspection (VT, PT or RT) |
How to order documents
- 1Select or specify it in the quote
For CNC and sheet metal parts, select a measurement report, CMM report or FAIR under ‘Inspection’ on the quote screen; the price updates accordingly. Enter other documents such as a material certificate, certificate of conformity or weld inspection in the additional manufacturing requirements field or the part note. Attach a ballooned drawing for FAIR.
- 2Confirmed in technical review
Uretyco assesses the requested documents during technical review. If an additional charge applies, your approval is requested before production; if a document cannot be provided, you are told before production and can cancel the affected parts free of charge.
- 3Production and inspection
The documents are prepared during production and quality control.
- 4Delivery
Documents are delivered electronically and/or with the parts, as stated in the quote.
A material certificate must come from the batch that was actually used, and measurements need the parts in hand. Requesting documents after shipment usually means re-inspection, and some documents can no longer be produced at all.
Projects that require a certified manufacturer
If your project requires a manufacturer with a specific quality-management certification (for example ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 or IATF 16949), state it in the quote request. Before order confirmation, Uretyco confirms whether a manufacturing partner holding that certificate can be assigned. If not, no order is placed.
Uretyco quality control is an inspection against your order and does not take the place of a certification. Standards such as ISO 2768, DIN ISO 20457 (formerly DIN 16742) or VDI 3405 are tolerance and process references, not certifications. You and your responsible engineer decide whether a part is suitable for a regulated application.
If a document is missing or wrong
A document agreed in the order is part of the order scope. If it is missing or does not match the parts, open a request on the part (for example “Diğer talep”); it is handled like any other non-conformity.
Frequently asked questions
Is a material certificate included automatically?
No. Every order gets standard quality control; certificates and reports are included only if you select them at quote.
Is a Certificate of Conformity the same as a CE declaration?
No. A CoC confirms that the parts meet your order requirements. It is not a CE marking, not an EU declaration of conformity and not a product certification.
Can I get documents after delivery?
Usually only with re-inspection, and a material certificate may no longer be traceable to your parts. Select documents at quote time.
Do documents affect price and lead time?
Yes. Each selected document is priced in the quote, and the additional inspection work can add time; the quote shows the result for your order.
Can I request a certified manufacturer?
Yes. If you need a certified manufacturer, state it in the quote request. Before order confirmation, Uretyco confirms whether a partner holding that certificate can be assigned. If none can be assigned, no order is placed.
